Workshops & Classes

What is a workshop?

A workshop is an event consisting of seminar portions, self-inquiry, hands-on practice sessions and small group conversations. What makes workshop an ideal method of learning is its opportunity to directly put in practice the new information presented by the facilitator and to benefit from the other participants' experience.

When combined with the Integral Coaching methodology, such event becomes a powerful holistic experience where participants work at the psychological, physical, relational and environmental levels on a specific topic for a superbly effective learning session. You will leave the workshop with invaluable new insights, practices to take home to continue the learning process on your own, and new connections and friends.

Past events:

"Soothing Anxiety Holistically" - Saturday December 2, 2017 - 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM - Shanti Naam Yoga in Castro Valley.

This workshop will be co-facilitated with Meisha Bosma, Kundalini Yoga teacher and owner of Shanti Naam Yoga.

Chronic anxiety is epidemic. In addition to facing our own challenging personal circumstances, we collectively are also experiencing high levels of shared anxiety as we are constantly bombarded by emotionally-charged stories happening in our state, country and in the world.

Western culture offers two popular options to manage the symptoms of our anxiety: pharmaceutical medications and recreational drugs. Although these options can be part of our coping regimen, addressing anxiety from a holistic perspective offers us additional ways or powerful alternatives to soothe our anxiety at its roots.

During an afternoon of discussions, self-inquiry exercises and Kundalini Yoga sets, you will expand your repertoire of self-care methods to soothe your anxiety holistically. You’ll explore how to soothe anxiety through the physical, energetic, emotional, psychological and spiritual dimensions. You will leave the workshop with new tools to take care of yourself and of your loved ones.

Please bring your yoga mat, journal & pen if convenient. No prior yoga experience needed!

"Communication Skills for Difficult Conversations" - Saturday September 16, 2017 - 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Shanti Naam Yoga in Castro Valley.

Because challenging conversations trigger uncomfortable feelings, we try to avoid them as we fear our own reactions and the outcome that the conversation might have on the relationship.

Did you know that skillfully navigating a difficult conversation is the key that unlocks the possibility of deeper trust in self and others, stronger emotional connection with loved ones and more satisfying relationships?

During an afternoon of discussions, self-inquiry exercises and practice sessions in dyads, you will increase your self-awareness and develop your ability to be present, authentic and effective as you have difficult conversations in life or at work.

Please bring your journal & pen.
